When I bought my '07 Prius, I didn't need fast. I've already got a '03 BMW R1150RT motorcycle, which is way faster than a Camry, and most cars out there, and still gets 45 - 50 mpg, highway mileage. I get "fast" and good fuel economy no matter how I drive the bike.

No one has mentioned price: the cost of a Prius was already at the top of what I would pay for a car. The Camry costs more than a Prius, an important point for many of us.

One thing about the Prius, its average fuel economy tops that of the motorcycle, which is pretty amazing.
