The maintenance manual recommends that the cabin air filter be CLEANED at 15,000 miles or 18 months - not replaced unless you do a lot of driving on dirt roads or other very dusty conditions.

The manual then recommends that the cabin air filter be replaced at 30,000 miles or 36 months.

Your dealer, unless you have put a lot of miles on your car, is merely trying to up his profits.
