I noticed the lid to the fuse compartment was not secured properly.

I've never opened it and there's been no reason for service people to have opened it -- it was just loosely laying on top of the box.

The fuse compartment is located on the driver's side, under the hood toward the windshield. It's plastic and has a tab that is supposed to snap it closed. Could it become unlatched by itself?

I wonder if this might be the source of some of the driver-side rattles reported in this forum?
