I would venture to guess that the main reason Hybrids aren't selling as well as their otherwise identical counterparts is people don't want to fuss with plugging it in at night or at the office or face a possibly dead car.
They don't want to run out of battery with no recharge and be stuck on the freeway.
I've had my car for 16 months now and it's still the #1 question I get today.
