The easiest way to get into EV mode after the engine is warm is to get the car's speed up to around 40
MPH and then let your foot off the gas pedal and then slightly push down on the gas pedal. As you mentioned you need to have a light foot otherwise the ICE will kick in. On level ground I can keep it going about 40
MPH until I hit an incline...
