Oh, and while I'm at it, I've cruelly forced her to do a brake job as well as change her oil, air filters and other minor procedures. Can't tell you how many 'Oh, daaaaaddds...' I've heard :-). It would have been far easier to send her to my local shop but I wanted her to learn the basics. The funny thing is, one of her friends had a flat a while ago - had no idea - called her mom to help - also had no idea - until my daughter showed up to find mom and daughter standing around baffled. She showed them how to change a tire and got them going in a few minutes. I got a kick out of that as she was so proud of having been able to help.

Basically I'm trying to teach responsibility and a little basic know-how. The above was a great lesson in that, and my daughter felt great that she'd been able to help out!
