You'll forgive me, but the logic is a little dubious:

$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies
pockets for just one day,
The math is based on the idea that all 73 million American internet users all fill up their tanks on the same day to get to that 3 billion. What are the chances that all 73 million would ever fuel up on the same day, ever?

It's also rather dubious that everyone concerned who decided "not to get gas" will actually make any difference by chosing a particular day that they won't fill up on. They will fill up beforehand, or afterhand, or not needing it, won't fill up at that time. In the long run, that's not any different then any other week in the monthly picture to the fuel industries.

Just a reminder, so little of our fuel comes from the Middle East, it's kind of silly to believe that they'd ever notice it if you didn't gas on a particular day. While it's convienant, to think our woes are due to a bunch of greedy Middle Eastern Businessmen who have most of our fuel, it's Canada and other countries, as well as ourselves that produce about 97% of the fuel we use.

I thought this was better than resending. On the other hand, I've always doubted the effectiveness such campaigns.

By the way, I filled up earlier today, so you know I'll be well beyond the 15th before I need to refill.
I like the mentality. The idea that not getting gas on one day supposedly will have such a dramatic effect, yet there's no "reduce fuel usage for a week" campaign, is there?

I got gas once last month, on the 15. That means that 29 days out of that month, I didn't get gas. Many others here are in similar shoes. Is the fuel industry disturbed by the fact that thousands like us didn't fill up on 29 of those days that month? Of course not. Because lots of other people did fill up on those days.

This is kind of like holding your breath. At best you're inconviencing yourself. But hey, knock yourselves out, and if it lowers gas prices, hooray! I suppose I'll be participating as well, just because I don't think I've ever filled up on a Tuesday.
