Haha. This car always gets discussion going. Yes of course the reason it gets 92 mpg is that it's a small (actually a two-seater), light, highly aerodynamic commuter car. And yes it has been locally track tested and corners and accelerates wayyyy better than your typical high performance car. I can't comment on the inherent stability in a 3 wheel design. The really exciting thing about it though is that in developing their fuel vapor technology they discovered that although the mileage didn't increase all that much, the emissions dropped something like 80%. The engine is a modified off-the-shelf Honda engine that, if you put it back into a Honda, would get slightly better mileage than one with a stock engine but would emit 80% less CO2 and NOX. Now THAT is a significant development if you ask me because it doesn't rely on developing an infrastructure of hydrogen filling stations or expensive battery technology. Chip Foose and Jay Leno both saw the car at the SEMA show and both chose it as the most exciting car at the show. I'm a sceptical sort myself but I think it's important to keep an open mind when considering technologies that can potentially help solve the problems of emissions and climate change.
