Question about installing a switch for the speed sensor wire.

How does this effect opperation of the nav when you use the switch?

Do you have to hit the switch, select the POI ect, then hit it again? I would assume that when it's not engaged the vehicle position on the nav does not update. Or does that wire ONLY control access to the POIs.
