Oil Filters
I applaud Honda for having a standard filter for their cars. Now if they would just design the filter canister to be reusable so all that needs to be changed is the filter element.
The europeans have been doing this for many years. I wonder why the asians don't adopt this. It is just one less thing that needs to be thrown away.
On the oil life, the meter on our car goes to zero at about 9600-9700 mile increments, so 10K is an easy point to do the change.
I do find it curious that the filter change is not in lock step with the oil change, especially since the filter holds about a pint of the old oil that does not get removed unless the filter is removed and drained. And if you are going to do that what is $4 for a fresh filter?
