That's what I'm trying to find out. Safelite refuses to give me the information; I'm going to let the NTHSA know about this and I'm guessing they will investigate and find out the difference between the two glasses.

There may be, although there is no evidence in the forums yet of any one that got aftermarket glass (except the aftermarket glass designed for the gas Camry).

Correct. As far as I can tell, insurance companies are legally required to install the OEM glass if no aftermarket glass exists, and would probably be violating the law installing aftermarket glass that "happens to fit" that wasn't designed for your car.

Noticing a difference is irrelevant at this point. It is a safety issue. That's the point of this thread; it doesn't even matter if the gas Camry aftermarket glass has the noise reduction. If you're driving around in a car that doesn't meet the safety standards that the original car met, there's a serious problem.
