I really don't what the alleged range is. I can start the car from inside my house, probably a 6-7 foot distance. Perhaps 10 feet when I do the same from my office (all pointing the unit at the car (via the window). I do wish that the remote start would enable the rear defroster (if the button was pushed on when the car turned off), but it does not (I am in Michigan so it does get cold and snowy at times).
