Nissan has three levels of maintenance - Premium, Schedule One and Schedule Two. Premium and Schedule One both have 3,750 mile oil changes. Schedule Two has 7,500 mile changes. The 3,750 mile oil change is for severe driving like taxi cabs, short trips, towing, etc, etc. The 7,500 mile oil change is for all highway driving. I would think most people fall some where in-between so 5,000 is a good compromise.
