Re: New guy with questions
As you mentioned in an earlier note even the low-option versions are _not_ stripped down by any means. I have only mats and moonroof as options, but even that comes with leather steering wheel and gear shift covers, nice wheels, chrome tailpipe, the acoustic windshield glass, auto-dimming mirror with compass, heated side mirrors, traction/stability control, nice stereo, bluetooth, connections for satellite and 'auxiliary devices' (ipods, etc), plays cds of mp3 or wma files.... This is a very nicely equipped unloaded car!
And don't forget while you're making your decision, that if you wait long enough the tax credit will expire completely (right now you should still be able to get $650 off your federal taxes, "if you qualify"--not sure who _doesn't_ qualify), and those 2008 models may be taking over soon and those will actually come more stripped down unless you load up on options. And someone here claimed for a $1000 reduction in price for the stripped-down version, to add all those options back on was $2000. So the credit, the nicely loaded base options, and the ability to negotiate may still make it worth your while to keep from waiting too long to buy....
Just a little more food for thought. (And trust me when you buy it, you'll be glad you did, and wish you'd bought it sooner no matter when you buy!)
