If anyone lives (or visits) the Fort Myers area, the Edison/Ford Estates-museum is a great attraction. It has some of the original electrical motors and batteries on display. It also has an electric car, his light bulbs and much more. Definatley worth a visit. For the wives, there is the garden where edison planted about every plant he could find as he attempted to make rubber for tires without using OIL. He was able to do this in a venture with Firestone and they made tires from a derivative of the goldenrod. Interesting stuff and a piece of american history.
