But why not use safety as a tool? If Ford (Or others) can't beat small cars on gas, then beat them on safety, use unethical advertising to make people feel "unsafe" to drive in anything that doesn't have 4WD, large body mass, and seating for 7-8.

Ultimate 'safety' is to never leave the home except in some massive, tank like vehicle. Then the cost of going from point A to B means there is no money to spend when you get to B. The money has gone 'up in smoke.' Personally, I think this is a good thing . . . these large vehicles become 'driveway art.'

I've been in accidents and had relatives die in accidents. I just can't let fear of an accident lead to paralysis or worse.
