I have seen a fair amount of discussion on the need/desire to warm the engine up from an external source before startup on cold days.

Since it will be easier to install such devices when the weather is a bit more favorable for car self-help projects, I began to search for some sort of coolant heater for my HCH (FEH also).

While my search wasn't fruitless, it certainly was confusing.

I didn't find the "right" device or even something close to what I think I need.

Sometimes, however, when I try to think, nothing happens.

Might someone share their experience with coolant and intake heaters with me (and the community), or post a link to the proper thread?
