I believe that is a fair overall review of this car. Saving the environment is cool, but in the end, if there is no function over style, then you are just wasting your time in this car.

I believe this car makes a great 2nd car for anyone that owns a larger vehicle, but like the article states, Honda's conventional Civic does the job.

We might not have another Civic Hybrid sold in the US. Honda may do what Toyota did with the Prius. The Honda CRZ maybe what the Honda Civic Hybrid will be merged into. Using data compiled, the average commuter is only one person, have four doors on a one person communter car seems pointless....

I also believe Honda will eventually design a more efficent engine using alternative fuels to combat the rising cost of gas. It is said they are working on bring diesel to the US.

Unfortunately, I work in an industry that people state they love something all the time. iPods, Tivo, BluRay, blah blah blah... People love iPods and buy the next one that comes out then grips when Apple lowers / slash the prices.....

Don't get me wrong, I do not hate my Civic, but I don't "love" it. It's a car. It gets me from point a to point b. In three years or less, it will be gone. The next car will be in my sights... Hopefully at that time we will have 40+ mpg cars using conventional engines or diesels... Maybe the Volt will be around and have good performance...

Only time will tell....
