Yeah I'd say considering the average here, with almost 500 TCH owners logging fuel consumption data, an average of 36.6 would kind of indicate the EPA estimate is reasonable. I mean if this car were being driven the way non-hybrids are, the FE would be lower than 36.6, and I'd say 34 would be a reasonable estimate just based on changing driving behavior. The fact 500 people are getting just 36-37 mpg averaged among them gives a good indication that 40 mpg is still by no means "normal" performance, especially lifetime. If you're doing a little better than EPA, you're probably driving fairly well as a hybrid owner. If you're doing EPA, you're probably driving normally, just happen to be in a good efficient car. If you're getting stellar FE, you're probably fortunate in where you live, lol. Plus driving well.
