Default Re: What if gas goes sky high???

People complain that there are too many poor quality teachers.
Teachers get $30,000 /yr as starting pay.
I used to do that, and I used to work 50-60 hour work weeks.
You get no overtime when you are on a salary.
What incentive did I have to keep doing that?
The $1000/yr pay raise that comes with seniority? Don't make me gag.

Many people argue teachers are under-paid.

Dennis Miller ( I think it was him ) said teachers are over-paid.
He said the reason for this is teachers are a dime a dozen.
He contends "anyone" can become a teacher if they want, but very few can become professional basketball players. Therefore, professional basketball players are worth 10 million, because there are so few of them.

He is applying laws of supply & demand to people.
