Should I have gotten a larger discount for purchasing my own oil?

The local Valvoline only discounts a few dollars is you bring your own oil...maybe $5. The total for that was about $25 - 30.
My dealership charged $24.95 for a tire rotation, a local shop charges $12. My dealershiop does send out coupons for oil changes from time to time. They claims the change is $25 but it is probably more for synthetic.
From other posts on this forum, it seems like people have had the dealership charge about $50 on average for the oil change. So $80 is not far off for the oil change and tire rotation.
But, to answer your question, did you get ripped off? Honestly, if you go to a dealership for anything you get ripped off. I would take it to a local shop next time. Assuming you feel comfortable. Otherwise, you could change it yourself.
Sorry to hear you paid so much. If it makes you feel any better I pay about $40 to do it myself because Mobile 1 0W-20 is about $5.50 a quart and the filter is another $5 or so bucks. I know I could get it cheaper but this way I know I got what I wanted and it was done right.
