Default Re: China Raises Gas Prices

Here in Kunming (SW China) most stations do not have big 'price' signs. I'm a bus&bike guy and keep forgetting to check this since the increase. However on TV I saw 6.28 RMB per liter. Equal to $USD 3.44/gallon, more or less.

Before the increase I saw long lines at the fuel stations, didn't know why. It turns out that since the refiners were losing $$ selling fuel at the old (controlled) price, they decided to refine less fuel. Production rates have apparently been increased.
