I work for an auto insurance claims department, and have been in claims for 20+ years. I have handled many auto theft losses. However, in over 20 years of handling claims, I have NEVER seen a stolen hybrid. Most "stolen" vehicles are large SUV's or pickup trucks. A significant percentage of "thefts" are owner give ups, and insurance has to pay because they are very difficult to prove fraud.
