Default Re: Which one is the drain plug?

The oil pan drain plug gasket is pretty much part of the plug. I've never had to replace one on this design.

The drain plug on the filter canister does not need to be removed. It CAN be removed to make the job a little bit less messy, but I never bother (they strip out anyway).

I've always just used a large pair of channel locks on this filter canister. I know, I know.. it's not the 'right' way to do it, but it works everytime... just be very careful as the canister is plastic and I would imagine breaks very easily... don't apply a whole lot of pressure on the channel locks.. just enough to hold it in place while rotating it loose.

Once you turn it maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of a turn you can easily rethread it the rest of the way by hand.

The filter canister holds maybe.. .1/2 of a quart of oil so you won't lose very much when you replace the filter.. just make sure the oil is properly topped off when you're done.

One gallon of gas - $3.49

One used four wheel drive SUV that gets 30+ Miles Per Gallon - $15,999

Purchasing it used for $5000 UNDER bluebook because the dealership did not realize it was a hybrid - PRICELESS
