It's not as good as it sounds. Less than one year into the rebate programme, the same government is scrapping the EcoAUTO rebate scheme, ending with 2008 model cars which will have to be claimed soon. This rebate scheme cost a lot of money and it didn't have any caps to keep it within budget.
