I never thought of the clean air sticker in that light. I wasn't planning on using the carpool lanes much since I don't tend to drive during peak traffic hours and like you, I drive for fuel efficiency (no more than 60-65 miles per hour). But for a free ride on the onramp carpool lane, the sticker is definitely worth the 8 bucks.
