Default 12V Cigarette Lighter Socket

When I turn off my key and open door get out then close the door, locked, do both the 12 V lighter sockets front and passenger still have power?

Today I try to install a dash camera, its power is switched on and off by the lighter socket power. I found after I returned from supermarket the camera was still recording. So if it is forever recording then if I park the car for vacation the camera may drain my 12 V battery.

I have a gps plugged into the passenger side 12vdc outlet. The gps powers down when I switch the key off. I don't remember how the driver side outlet works, but I'll try to get to it later today.

UPDATE: Driver side outlet is always on.

here is the camera video. I have a 2008 Escape Hybrid and there is only one socket on front, another one on the rear for back seat passengers.

I have found that the front seat outlet is switched, but the one in the rear seat is continuous. I ran my battery flat one night from a seat warmer left plugged in back there.

Really? I found both are continuous. Let me try it again since I plugged the dash camera to the rear one. Maybe it (the front one)has some time delay?
