I'm curious about this too and will be interested once the first batch of '06s have about 5k miles on them to see what happens

The one thing I am constantly pleased with is the completely random MPG rankings here at GH in both the CVT and MT bases for the HCH. If you look, you'll notice '03s, '04s, and '05s all mixed and jumbled together. On the one hand you may think it signifies no advancement whatsoever of the model over the years, but I take great hope in realizing the fact that the rankings (with a few factors like climate aside) are almsot entirely dependent on how the car is driven and not when it was made. It means everyone here has the shot, whether they take it or not, to put up the same numbers Lakedude, Hot_Georgia, rjbarlow, and Kenny do. That's held true for '03s-'05s, and I expect it will for the '06s. It's all in how it's handled.
