With the possible exception of the Prius vs standard Camary, hybrids don't break-even over five years of ownership. Article did mention alternatives:
- Gentler driving (good luck on convincing the general public!)
- Diesel vehicles
- Smarter shopping for conventional fuel-effieient vehicles
