It really does depend on temperature and speed. In a 70mph zone I do a lot worse. I often drive 65 just to help the fuel economy a little. In a 55 zone I do great and I think this beats my city driving.
I think the city driving still slightly beats my freeway economy -- esp. if we compare apples to apples and only compare the city trips where the car is really warmed up (most of my city trips are short 10-15 minute runs in town and the car hardly has a chance to warm up and use the hybrid system) then the city driving definitely gets better fuel economy.
