I'm sorry, I still cannot see how this would work. And because air compressors are either gas or electric powered, it's still pollutive, and it still requires electricity which is mostly generated by coal and oil. Both are pollutive AND limited.

I cannot get excited about this unless somebody can show me that the car would be "rechargable" by some other means. Work with me here! Tell me I can hook it up to a lifecycle bike and "pedal" it to recharge it...or SOMETHING. After all, I could use the excercise, and it's too dangerous on the roads to ride an ACTUAL BICYCLE.

I'll patiently wait for a better explanation. Or the perfect solution, whichever comes first.
