The Insight electric motor is not being replaced - it's the MCM and BCM units that are supposed to protect the battery unit that is my concern. I seriously doubt those units would function well from a power surge.

My theory is somehow the MCM and BCM units failed - ruining the batteries. So far, I have not explaination aside from "natural death" - which I think is just a euphenism for nobody knows.
