Odd that I should have thought of this today before seeing this topic...

Why not have an ICE "autostop" for motorcycles and cars?

Could they could use the IMA idea, or just ditch the whole starter/flywheel thing, and use a Prius MG1-esque starting mechanism? Could "autostop only" be implemented with a "normal" 12V system?

And how much gas would it save if widely implemented in new cars and motor cycles?

Maybe a lot, if we made the red-light "motor revvers" install them in their SUVs and motorcycles.
