Welcome and I live in the Clear Lake area. Not many HCHs around here, actually have seen only one other but then I get to do 1/2 my driving on the back roads thru bubbaville. It will take some adjustment to get good milage i.e. can you say reduced use of the a/c?. I use it only when it's necessary. Hey humidity isn't bad it's good for the skin..lol. Try going the speed limit, between 60 - 65 the milage starts going down hill. I have some places I have to go 50 and it really gets good milage then.
