Default Re: Prius LED Brake lights

According to light reps that I work with Blue is the most expensive, then red, then yellow and white.

LOL, the retail mark up is horrible! I remember when LEDs came out for police cars everyone said it would not make it as it took to many to make them bright..

Now it only takes 3 to be bright with the Gen III's.

Your right in a sence that the cost from high to low is Blue, Red, Amber then White.

The Blue LEDs cost more to make, is the excuse I've always heard... one pair of LED deck lights costs the average officer $350 - 400 bucks I opened a store out of my home and found that the retail mark up was huge the same pair of blue lights one would pay $300-$400 for, really cost the dealer $99.00..

the life expecancy of LEDs of continous ilumination is one hundred thousand hrs/ 11yrs.

Yes they do make kits to slow them down to a standard flash rate like standard turn signals..

I just wish and wondered why they dont use them for turn signals like cadillac does.. You certainly wouldnt miss them signaling to turn lol...
