How extended? Were you on a slight downhill slope? Perhaps traffic ahead of you was slowing down and you eased your foot off the pedal just a tiny bit?

Most likely what you saw was a glide with the valves shut and no fuel being consumed. The HCH will glide a long way this way because there is very little resistance from the engine compared to other cars where you have to feed fuel to the engine just to keep it from slowing down the car.

Whenever I see that Instant MPG reading at 100 I say - Oh what a feeling!
