Default Could BAS be made more robust?

I tend to think of BAS as "Basic AutoStop", since it provides intelligent stop-start, but not a lot of motive thrust. On the bright side, the system only costs about a grand.

The thing I'm wondering is this: what would happen to BAS if the end-user added more batteries to the pack? People seem to do that with the Prius, but never to the HCH.

If someone had a Vue or an Aura with extra batteries, could the system support more power outlets? Would the 5 HP motor be able to run longer, and thus improve FE or performance?

I was just wondering. I think that BAS is a decent start/stop system, but it would be great if it could be made more "hybridy".

.

Hope is like a candle held against the night.
