Default Re: Could BAS be made more robust?

BAS is supposed to be a low-cost, interim solution. The real hybridization will be the dual-mode rolling out next year. I'd call it very unlikely that they'll put much work into beefing BAS up. An OEM market is already starting up for large alternator motor/generators, to sell to builders who want to add autostop or a little extra oompf. Maybe look there for trends?

I don't know that anyone has their hands on a BAS vehicle yet, so nobody's been able to see how things are set up, and what work-arounds might be necessary to get the computer to call on the alternator/motor/generator longer or more often, or to recognize the increased energy storage capacity.
