It's actually a system that GM is releasing in two vehicles for model year 2007. BAS is a 48 volt system % hat does three things: Autostop,a couple of power outlets, and a small bit of electric motor thrust when accelerating. It's a weaker system than IMA and HSD but it is also a lot less expensive.
