Re: 03 HCH New transmission
When my Civic Hybrid CVT had 45,000 miles, they replaced the transmission on Honda's dime. Didn't fix the bucking/shuddering problem. Replaced the EGR (again, Honda paid for it) - fixed.
Then, started again at 65,000 miles, this time with check engine light. After several trips where they said there was no problem, they updated the computer and replaced the catalytic converter (Honda-funded, as well). This fixed it again.
I'm now at 85,000 miles and it has started again. After a $90 diagnositc fee, Now they say that Honda Tech has issued a "procedure" for them to do a clutch service. This involves 4 or so hours of draining CVT, driving, following certain procedures, draining CVT again, driving, CVT fluid several times, as well as computer clutch timing calibration.... at my cost of $309. No new parts, just time and lots of CVT fluid.
This is the first time it's hitting my pocket... and although I'm well over warrantly, I'm annoyed that a problem with such a history has involved so many different parts and is still causing me problems.
Just wanted to report back to the group... Curious if any of you have had this clutch service, what you paid, and if it worked.
