Default Re: Different EPA ratings for different parts of the country

The only thing different is the paperwork. This is from the EPA website:

Why do some apparently identical vehicles have different scores?

A few vehicles have different scores even though they are, by all outward appearances, identical. This is because the manufacturer chose to certify the identical vehicles to different standards: California and Federal. The Air Pollution Score is based on emission standards and, in some cases, the California standards are different from the Federal standards.

.

Two climate control systems, one inside and the other at the tailpipe.

2007 Camry Hybrid (in service June 2006)
FE: 6.67L/100km or 35.3 mpg (6.11L/100km or 38.5 mpg in summer)
