We've never managed to get below 43mpg on the highway, even with the AC on, driving 80-85mph. If I back down to 60-65, I can get 48 (still with the AC on). Going down to 55-60, I managed to hold 51.8 mpg for about 110 miles. The only hypermiling technique I use consistently is to keep the tires at 36psi. (I have yet to try 38.)

Most of our driving is here in NYC, where we always get at least 35mpg. Yeah, a Prius or a TCH could top that, but still, it's twice what we got in our CRV.

We just passed 6000 miles, but we've been getting this sort of mileage for the last 3K, at least.

Bill, you didn't mention what your commute was like, in terms of speed, traffic, and road.
