Here's an article in the Detroit News that paints a similar picture to what I and others on this newsgroup have been saying.....

• Toyota's primary advantage over GM is in labor costs and legacy costs relative to health care and pensions.
• If GM didn't supply 1.7 million large trucks and SUVs / year, Toyota would.
• Toyota's product mix has been shifting from small and mid-sized cars to large trucks and SUVs, because they are more profitable.
