I don't think that the HCH 2 is ever going to catch the Prius 2.
Our cars might be closer than we think although we can't prove it. A neighbor in San Pedro tells me that their Prius display calculates mpg to high compared to manually. Our HCH II do the exact opposite and calculate to low. If the display numbers are entered in the database for each car then it would be alot closer. Normally with my car there is a difference of about 2.5mpg. This could be the difference just a thought.

My other half states that she would buy a HCH II because the EPA vs actual is closer to what is advertised. According to EPA the Prius should be at 55.5mpg while the HCH II should be at 50mpg.(As she looks over my shoulder)
