I see that Honda is showing that they have a new DVD available (version 6.55) for the NAVI. They've added detail for some cities (none that I travel to), and have updated the POI (points of interest). I assume that means they've updated the roads for new construction and the business information (names, addresses, phone, etc.). The big question... is it worth the $185 (plus tax & shipping) they want for it?
Has anyone purchased the new disc yet? Their site says it's presently backordered until mid Nov... so SOMEONE has been buying it! If someone has experience with this, can you please advise if the new disc shows better information than the old one (streets added for new housing tracts, more accurate business info, etc.)?
I guess an alternative is that I could go to the Honda dealer and ask to try out an '07 model's NAVI for a few minutes (I have some specific locations I want to check on!).
By the way, the Honda site also mentions improvements to the DVD:
"Your navigation system can now control your Digital Audio PC Card Reader, CD player, play MP3s and WMA audio files"
That doesn't seem like an improvement to me... I think mine already does this!
