Thanks for the info. I always just put it in 5th and lift completely off the throttle when traveling down hills that are steep enough to not need any engine assistance, but I guess in theory being in neutral with the engine off would give you the ability to coast at your desired speed on less steep grades than what's required to do so with the engine engaged.
