About a week ago, we had really wet weather and I had let the car sit on an almost empty tank of gas for a number of days without driving it once. It started just fine but was sluggish driving...I tanked up and took it on the highway and after about 15 minutes the check engine light and IMA light both went on, at about the same time.

My mileage in city driving has dropped (down to 35mpg from about 42mpg). The car still drives just fine though, and still gets the same mileage (about 55-58mpg) on the highway.

I was thinking of taking it to the dealer, but I had to get somewhere yesterday, and I was driving about an hour and a half ride each way, on some hilly country roads yesterday. I noticed that it seemed to be having trouble calibrating how full the battery was...it would suddenly jump up and down.

Oddly, as I drove it up and down the hills and drained / recharged it a few times, the problem seemed to go away. On the way back, the battery gauge seemed to be working as normal again, my mileage went up, and mysteriously, the IMA light turns off.

Check engine light is still on. Thoughts? Should I take it straight to the dealer? Wait on it a little more? The car is a 2003, and has been in excellent shape and has 76,000 miles on it; I bought it used at 59,000.

Thanks in advance for any input!

2004 IMA; Offset steering

I have two major concerns with my vehicle (2004 IMA, UK, right hand drive, 58,000miles) which I would greatly appreciate advice and feedback on;

1. Even though my wheels have been tracked and balanced my steering wheel is offset, around 4-5 degrees to the left. Honda uk dealer has told me that this is a "civic" thing, and that they could take the wheel off and rotate it to the right, but it would then be exactly the same, but offset to the right. Something to do with the splined connection within the steering column??

2. lack of self centering ability. There is very little self centering on the steering, but more of an issue is the fact I have to continually correct my steering to keep the car tracked. It has a tendancy to 'wander' ever so slighty. Not enough to be dangerous, but enough to mean Im always correcting the steering. The dealers say it is something to do with the EPS unit, and is a common problem.

In regards with both of the above, I have had all the suspension and steering components checked by the dealers and they have found nothing wrong. Does anyone else suffer these problems?

Greetings Everyone,

A couple weeks ago I got a Check engine light on my 05 HCH.

I've got just over 110000 on it now. Replaced the 12V battery about 10K miles ago.

I finally got a scanner and collected the following three codes.

P0139 HO2S-12 (Bank 1 Sensor 2) Circuit Slow Response :embarass:

P1130 HO2S-12 / HO2S13 Signal Circuit Demand Charging :embarass:

P2000 Hybrid Battery System Voltage High :omg:

I haven't reset this yet. Have any of you had any experience with these codes?

I really don't like the P2000 code. I fear high voltage could kill my HV battery.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.
Glen Ray

I just bought a 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid last week. I bought the car on Tuesday, drove to school all week and it was fine. On saturday, I drove to work and when I came out at the end of the day, it would not start. The lights were dim and the battery apparently dead. I jumped it, it started fine. I came out to leave for work the next morning and it was dead again. I drove to work, this time took a little extra time to drive it, and when I came out at the end of the day, started fine.

Here are the factors that make this situation different, 1: It was probably in the mid 30's to 40's both days and raining. 2: I only drive about 3 miles to work.

I have been driving it to school (25 miles) all week waiting to see if any more problems, but none. My theory is that the Hybrid battery is sucking power from the 12v battery and that this was influenced by the cold... Any ideas?
