I won't bore all of you with the details. If you have ever done the updates from Synymyride and the whole clunky time wasting process don't you just sense this is par for the course for Microsoft? Wonder why they can't push the updates and such TO your car silently in the background instead of you having to...well. you know the steps. It is as if you and I have nothing else better to do. I bought the frikkin Fusion to drive and enjoy, not to download, run to the car, install, reboot, run back to the computer, upload, to confirm like a frikkin pampered spoiled high maintenance "other" in a relationship! This is just one more piece of intrusiveness in an already cluttered life! Even the bozos where I got my 5000 mile checkup didn't touch the unit for a vehicle health report. Why do I sense that if this was an APPLE based system all of this would be pure intuitiveness to be 100% customer and user friendly.

2010 NON-FFH I-4 Turn Over/No Start issue

I know this is a Fusion Hybrid specific board but I though I'd throw this out there in case it helps any other Fusion owners.

My parents and a close friend both bought I-4 2010 Fusions during August. Both have mentioned, and I have on one occasion witnessed, the car will sometimes turn over (starter engaged) but will not start. In all cases trying to start a second time (Key OFF/Key ON/Start) will result in the car starting up.

I researched the issue today and located a TSB regarding the issue. I don't have access to the actual TSB language (maybe someone else on here does) but here is what I do have:

TSB 09-19-1 - 2.5L ENGINE - INTERMITTENT HARD START / LONG CRANK - WITH ONE TOUCH INTEGRATED SYSTEM (OTIS)

Details:
"As a result of the previous post about our 2010 I-4s sometimes continuing to crank W/O starting, (2010 4 cly. keeps turning over), I spoke with my service manager at Ford. There is a TSB (technical service bulletin) out on this problem. It is TSB 09-19-1. Apparently there is a ground strap near the engine that is causing the problem. They replace it with an up-dated version and that is supposed to eliminate the no start issue. Mine is on order. This is warranty work and therefore it is of no cost to the owner. Just call your dealer, refer them to the TSB number, they will order the part, and install it under warranty. It doesn't take long ( 0.4 hr.) and you could probably wait while they install it. The reason for the no start issue is a little technical, but suffice it to say that the new grounding strap is supposed to eliminate the issue. Hope this settles this concern. "

3rd ignition key for FFH

If you wish an extra key for your Ford Fusion Hybrid and not have to pay $180 through the dealership, you can find a Flip Key on the Internet. You need your two original keys to program a new third key, so buy it now so you can still program it. I received my FFH flip-key the other day for $59 with shipping. I tried to get the key cut at some big-box stores and even the dealership and they wouldn’t or couldn’t do it. When I took it to a key shop he quickly unscrewed the key shaft and cut the key. The screws are on each side and are exposed when the shaft is only opened to 45 degrees, not fully open. I gave the shop owner a copy of the programming instructions, that he didn’t have, and in return he said the cutting was free. Sometimes today, the bigger the company the smaller the service.
The programming instructions that came with the key were flawless and the ignition and the door remote worked on the first try.
The secret to cutting the key is to remove the shaft and going to a real key shop. (see photo to show screw locations)

If you are looking to a site to buy a key try on eBay and type-in 06 2006 FORD FUSION FLIP KEY REMOTE KEYLESS. The key is listed for $39.95 plus shipping.
