Default 2006 model question

Does anyone know if the the '06 tail-lights and headlights (non-HID) could be easily swapped out with the '05 tail-lights and headlights (non-HID) or is there hardware incompatabilities? I really prefer the style of the older ones and I am sure I could just trade someone for the new lights. Do you think the front chrome grill could be swapped easily as well for one that matches the paint of of the car?

Basically I like the upgrades that Toyota has done to the 06 model when it comes to function but I dont really care for the exterior cosmetic upgrades (too much chrome)
TIA

Default Re: 2006 model question

There is a good chance that the rear lights will swap easily. However I can't speak exactly to it becasue I haven't tried it. What matters is that the new lenses have the same mounting hardware and points as the old lenses. It isn't uncommon for what appears to be just a visual change in the car to also be accompanied by different mount points if there was a hidden engineering need. You won't know that until you remove the lens and mount the new one. Headlights might be trickier because there are fewere pacakges in 06 which do not have HID lamps. Wheras about half of the 04 and 05 packages were sans HID lamps.
