Default Am I getting greedy? 800 Mile Tank?

74.8 mpg @ 753 miles. Pip started flashing 10 miles ago. What do you think my odds are of getting to 800? This tank will raise my calculated mpg by about 5 mpg.

Thanks,

CJB

.

Thanks,

Chris

Whoa - how the heck did you do this? Were you going downhill for all these miles? I'm happy if mine goes 600. +G

i got around 20 km a liter when i drove a civic 5 spd using advanced hypermiler techniques
and now I drive a salvage nwh20 prius that gets almost to 25 km/l with 192,000 km to date.

Much improved if you'll carry a 1-2 gallon, sealed, gas container. <wink> Having an 'out of tank' reserve makes dealing with the impending fuel exhaustion much easier.

You may want to look at some of the warm-up data including Ken's 04 Prius data:

http://hiwaay.net/~bzwilson/prius/pri_warmup.html

The first warm-up of the day has a significant fuel penalty.

BTW, are you recording your mileage in the database? It would be great if you could add a signature pointer to your data.

How many miles/km on the odometer when you got it? Any early maintenance plans?

What was the temperature and number of gallons of your tank fill before this run? If it was 10.5 or more gallons then go for it and 60 degrees or more then your good to go.

I have the gas can ready. I only had a partial tank fill, but the temp was around 80F when I filled last (30 Sep 06). If I make it near my house I will be over 800. I'll post a picture tonight.

Bob,

Any pointers on making the link. I think if you click on my signature, it should take you to the database. I will try it.

Look for the picture tonight.

Thanks,

CJB

Thanks,

Chris
